As a native of Rexburg Idaho, I jumped at the chance to return to my hometown to set up my surgical practice. I have been in practice in Rexburg, Idaho since 1998.  I am a Board Certified General Surgeon. You may ask what is a "general surgeon", many people do not know. I am not a general practitioner. I am a specialist in the field of Surgery. General Surgery as a specialty focuses in the following areas.
-Abdominal surgery- includes surgical treatment of diseases of the colon, rectum, stomach, gallbladder, and appendix. This also includes laparoscopic surgery of the gallbladder and appendix.
-Breast surgery, including evaluation of benign and malignant breast lesions and the appropriate surgical treatment.
-Soft tissues which includes diagnosis and treatment of a variety of benign and malignant skin disorders.
-Hernia surgery in all of their varieties.
-Trauma. Fortunately for us as citizens in Rexburg trauma is not a considerable way of life but the unexpected does happen and if you are in need of a trauma surgeon in the Emergency Room it is likely that I will be the one that will be called.
-Endoscopy. This actually makes up a considerable part of my practice. This includes both diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy and esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD).
I split my surgical time between Madison Memorial Surgery Centerr and Madison Memorial Hospital, both are located in Rexburg. In general, the outpatient procedures are done at Madison Memorial Surgery Center and the more emergent and/or complex procedures are done at
Madison Memorial Hospital.
If you have a medical issue that you think I can be of service to you please call my office and an appointment can be made at your convenience. If is more urgent matter please feel free to call and arrangements can be made so that I can see you.

PERSONAL INFORMATION
Living in Idaho has several perks. Isn't that why most of us live here. I enjoy the outdoors and frequently can be found there. I enjoy hunting, fishing, hiking and camping. Over the past several years, with the demand on my time and the nature of being a physician that has to be close to the hospital I have developed another hobby. I am locally known as the "Pumpkin Doctor" or the "Pumpkin Surgeon" because of my rather unique hobby of growing giant pumpkins. I have a whole webpage dedicated to this hobby. It has nothing to do with medicine but feel free to browse through the pages. Hopefully you will get a better understanding of who I am.
